Thanks to everyone who came out to our jewelry-making party fundraiser last night! We were able to spend some time explaining in detail what we’ll be doing in Guatemala while creating cool jewelry with the help of Stacy and Carly, resident jewelry experts.
The purpose of our fundraiser was to raise a sort of “future project fund.” From this side, we don’t know exactly what projects we’ll be helping with in Central America, because the needs of the schools, families, and communities that we’ll be working with are ever-changing. But the funds we raised ensure that when we come across a compelling project, we’ll be able to donate your contributions directly to this project. 100% of the funds we raise will be going directly to one of the organizations we are working with. Keep following the blog to see exactly where the money goes, and how it helps.
The event was a true success– we raised $640 in donations thanks to our generous guests! Check out the photos on the right to see everyone in action at the party. We’d like to extend a special thanks to Steph’s mom Wendy, for hosting the event and cooking lots of delicious food for everyone to enjoy, to Stacy and Carly for lending their expertise, and to all our friends and family who made the trip to Westminster. We truly appreciate all your support and enthusiasm for our project!
If you have any feedback or ideas for future events, please leave us a message, or send us an e-mail at ProjectMicroMundo [at] gmail [dot] com.
Hasta luego!
Jessica, Steph, and Ronnie
